Petanque is extremely simple to play. There's a target,
and you have to get as close to it as possible. What makes it so
appealing, is that you can be way ahead for a while, yet lose a second
later, or vice versa. Because nothing is decided until the last player
plays the very last boule (metal ball). If he or she moves the aim ball or knocks an
opponent's ball out of the way, the layout of the boules - and thus your
score - may change dramatically.
We've all seen photos of elderly men in Provence playing under the great plane trees. But after school and on weekends, everyone who wants to relax and be outdoors joins in. And it is growing in popularity in the U.S.
Our set contains 6 chrome-plated steel balls, the cochonnet (the small target ball), a measuring string, and a printed description of play with rules, all packed in a sturdy canvas case with handle. Anyone can play: join the fun!
