France's finest cutlery is produced by a century-old family firm located in the heart of the Auvergne. Master Cutler Claude Dozorme maintains the highest standards in traditional techniques--hand grinding, hand polishing, polished rivets, solid brass bolsters, fine wood or horn handles--while embracing new technology in design applications.
Laguiole, a small Auvergne village, lent its name to a famed curved pocketknife with a bee motif. "Laguilole" knives have become very popular in the United States in the past few years, but many cutlery firms manufacture a "Laguiole" model using very different techniques and materials. Because Laguiole knives have such varying quality, you should be sure of a knife's provenance. Dozorme knives carry the Claude Dozorme signture, his name guaranteeing the quality, know-how, and tradition respected throughout France.
